Change

Change is inevitable

some aspects of change are positive
others not so much

yet in all change there is a choice
rejecting, lamenting, becoming paralyzed in fear and regret
OR
embracing, trusting, hoping, and moving forward

I face the change...
there are tears
dried by the wind and the sun

there are rocks ahead
and I may stumble
though faith will keep me on the path
embracing change
holding onto hope
trusting
moving forward

Change is inevitable

Green Light

On August 8th I accepted the full time K-2 General Music position
in McFarland
Letter of Resignation to Evansville,
Goodbyes
friends congratulating me
wanting to be excited, yet feeling so sad
emails and phone calls

Such a surreal feeling
and then to see my(former) position posted and know I wouldn't even be qualified to apply for it...
(certification change)

I drove through steady rain yesterday on my way to McFarland.

From the moment I stepped out of my car in the parking lot, everything changed!
I introduced myself to the teacher getting out of the car next to me,
and as we walked in the building, I felt so welcomed!
Everyone I met was friendly and warm, telling me I'll love it there,
offering help in my transitioning!
Still feels a bit surreal,
but I'm excited for my new beginning...
thankful for the "green light" go ahead!

Blue Sky Peeking Through

I interviewed with a team from McFarland on Friday.
Such a different mindset from 2 months ago...
excited about going back to Evansville, pros outweighing cons,
but yet open to a new opportunity that was put in my path!

I could be happy
I could make friends
I could be excited about a new music room, new possibilities, new kids to teach and love.

And so I wait
and hope
and pray
knowing that God knows our needs
and ultimately
HE has it all in His control.

an unsettling dream

In the past year and a half I have not often had dreams about my dad, but last night's was quite unsettling!
I "saw" him across a crowded room. He was younger looking and fit, with no trace of Parkinson's Disease.  I tried to catch his eye, and followed him as he walked outside, calling to him, yet he didn't seem to hear me...
He was getting into a car and I was screaming, "Dad!!!!"
Then right before I woke up, we locked gazes...there was a hint of a question in his eyes, but no recognition...and I cried.
Sometimes I feel so alone.

With the Rain Came...

For the past two months I've felt so up in the air
and my vision has looked like this.
Ironic, because during that time there was no rain.

With the rain came joy
With the rain came peace
Balance is restored
and the world looks brighter

I put the "job situation" in God's Hands,
so trust that teaching at LLE in Evansville,
even with the reduction in my position,
is where I am supposed to be.

Face to the Sun

This has been a week that has challenged the peace I had been resting in.
Thoughts like thistles pierce my calm.
Weeds entangle and threaten to choke life from me.

Yet flowers,
Even flowers that are considered weeds,
Turn their face to the sun.

So I take a deep breath
And turn my face to the sun.
I listen to songs that feed may soul,
iChat a request for prayer,
and receive assurance in a passage of God's Word.

I turn my face to the sun
To the One
Who is strong enough
